Kent Plantation House is the oldest standing structure in Central Louisiana. Kent House is located in Alexandria in Rapides Parish and is listed since 1971 in the National Register of Historic Places. The plantation house is a representation of southern plantation life between 1795 and 1855.

Oakland Plantation is a historic cotton plantation in unincorporated Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. It was originally known as the Jean Pierre Emmanuel Prud'homme Plantation, and also known as Bermuda.

Frogmore is a historic, privately owned cotton plantation near Ferriday in Concordia Parish, Louisiana. It is a working farm and also a tourist attraction. It may be visited to see old and new cotton farming methods. Buildings on the site include a cotton gin.

Melrose Plantation, also known as Yucca Plantation, is a National Historic Landmark in Melrose, Natchitoches Parish, in north central Louisiana. This is one of the largest plantations in the United States built by and for free blacks. The land was granted to Louis Metoyer, who had the "Big House" built beginning about 1832. It was the home of Clementine Hunter, the slave known for her primitive paintings

Natchitoches
Starting as a one-day festival, the Natchitoches Christmas Festival is now a six-week long Christmas Season festival. It begins on the Saturday before Thanksgiving and concludes on January the 6th, the Epiphany. Over 300,000 lights and 100 plus set pieces are on display every night at dusk. It is well-known for its fantastic fireworks display.

Kincaid Lake is a 2,600 acre reservoir. It provides a wide range of outdoor opportunities including camping, swimming, picnicking, fishing, boating, water skiing, hiking, and bicycling.
Natchitoches - Toledo Bend
The El Camino Real is one of the most ancient roads in American history. It is also called "The King's Highway," and "San Antonio Trace," and travels east to west from Natchitoches, Louisiana to Mexico City. Crossing through downtown Many in Sabine Parish, it also travels through Milam in Sabine County, San Augustine and Nacogdoches to Crockett, Texas. The El Camino Real's roots may well go back more than 1,000 years ago, to a time when hundreds of buffalo created trails as they moved south of the Great Plains each fall, many of them turning east at the Trinity River in Texas and following their ancient migration route into Louisiana, through what later became Toledo Bend Country, on to the Red River.

The Cane River National Heritage Area is a United States National Heritage. The area is known for plantations featuring Creole Architecture, as well as numerous other sites that preserve the
multi-cultural history of the area.
Louisiana - Texas
Toledo Bend Reservoir is a reservoir on the Sabine River between Texas and Louisiana. The lake consists o an area of 185,000 acres, the largest man-made body of water in Louisiana, the largest in the South, and the fifth largest in the United States.
Woodworth
Wild Azalea Trail is a 23.9 mile moderately trafficked point-to-point trail located near Woodworth, Louisiana, that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is used for hiking and mountain biking and is accessible year-round.
State Parks
Ville Platte
The park covers over 6,400 acres of rolling hills and water in South Central Louisiana. The cool, clear waters of Lake Chicot have yielded record freshwater catches of largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill and red-ear sunfish. Fishermen will enjoy the convenient boathouse, three boat launches and boat rental facilities.
Anancoco
A scenic, waterfront view from many vantage points. While the reservoir is nationally recognized as a destination for bass fishing tournaments, visitors to the park can also enjoy other outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, cycling, birding, camping and enjoying the many forms of wildlife in the area.
